I thought you guys would get a kick out of this. Here is what we are dealing with right now. You can click on the photos to make them larger--it really helps you get the idea...
Hubbie took this photo of me from the balcony. See the cars behind me? I am actually a good 10-12 feet up in the air.
Now Hubbie is taking my picture from our downstairs patio. No, I did not actually yell I'm on top of the world, but I really wanted to.
Here is a close up--notice the roofline behind me? Yeah.
Just to give a little more perspective, here I am at the back fence. I am standing on a good 18 inches or so of snow.
A few days ago, the icicles in our window looked like this.
This afternoon, from the outside they looked like this.
So, if you think it is cold at your house, quit your bitching! LOL
And as crazy as it sounds, I am really going to miss this place.
And if you have two minutes and want to see some CRAZY icicles and snow, watch this. My last statement that gets cut off is "waist high".

I've gotta tell you - for me, that looks like a blast!
My Gawd! I though it sucked here in ND! We have barely any snow, but we are dealing with extremem COLD. I think I'd rather deal with cold than all the snow though. Good luck! And I love your house.
Damn! That is a bit of snow isn't it? You'll miss the snow I'm sure, but in DC will probably get more than your fair share of ice.
I got really lucky and didn't get hit with an ice storm the whole time I was living in the great white north. Since I said that, however, I'm sure Alabama will be a solid sheet of ice tomorrow.
Coming from a weather lover, I have to admit this is one of the best posts I have ever seen!
I love being able to see and hear a fellow blogger! Awesome!
As for that weather, that is something! I don't know how you did that without falling down. (I guess that clues you in that I am not one for walking on ice).
This was almost like a Blair Witch Project only involving Mother Nature and not witches.
Love it!
W.O.W. I totally thought Michigan was getting all the crap weather! We just got done getting another 8 inches, now tomorrow is supposed to be 40 degrees and rainy. Gross!!
Daaaamn! This reminds me of pictures of my house back in 1978. Huge blizzard. There's a picture of the dog at the fence and he's stepping over the top of the fence. It was crazy.
Could you maybe bring some of that with you later this month? Hmmm?
@CiO: It is a blast! When we can actually get out and play in it!
@MM: That's funny! Because I think I'm am much happier with the snow than the cold. LOL
@BlueMomma: So, did the ice hit?
@Aithne: Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed the sights and sounds! Luckily, the big mountain of snow I was standing on was just that--snow. It is only outside our garage that it gets treacherous.
@MollysMom: We are supposed to be getting nice weather in the 40s this week. The evaporation rate up here is insane, so the snow will be shrinking pretty rapidly.
@CMGD: Um, I am ready for a little warm weather, so NO! I will not bring any of it with me!
Okay, okay! I'll quit my bitching! Though I know you didn't do it for my benefit, thanks for making me feel better!
(would now be a bad time to mention that it's a freaky 72 degrees here because of a storm system heading in? It'll be back down into the 40s by Wednesday, though.)
