Hubbie had his birthday last week. We had Skyped with his parents over the weekend, but they didn't mention his birthday. His birthday came--no email, no phone call, no text message. We Skyped with them yesterday. No mention. No asking what he had done, how it had gone. When Hubbie mentioned that we had gone out to dinner last weekend to celebrate his birthday because my mom was in town, they did not ask any questions or follow up on where we went or if we had a nice time. They completely ignored what Hubbie had said and changed the subject.
Fuckers.
I told Hubbie that we needed to rent Sixteen Candles in honor of his parents being total shits. But only if I got to feel him up.

Sounds like your MIL is a real piece of work! You have my sympathies. And tell your hubby Happy B-day from MM.
That totally sucks!
What is Skyped? (I'm too lazy to G*ogle it right now... but at least I'm honest.) :)
If you're not afraid to use it, I think you should definitely use it on your in-laws. No jury would convict you.
OMFG!!!! What a complete witch.
Dear Hubbie of NATUI - I'm an only child and I know my mom, who wouldn't mind having a son, would love to adopt you! And she'll even call you on your birthday!
Oooh, you win! Even my MIL isn't that bad, geez!!!
I think I wouldn't give her the forwarding address/phone when you move! No loss there for you.
((((hugs)))) and happy birthday to your hubby!
Peace - D
Stop on by, I got something for ya!
Thanks ladies! I read all your comment to Hubbie tonight, and he is happy to now be adopted and celebrated. You made his night--thanks!
Yeah, I have that problem with my Mom. She's just a little bit self obsessed. I sent her an e-mail on the weekend with pictures and stories and got back a laundry list of all her troubles without acknowledgement of anything I had written. Grrrr.
Did y'all rent 16 Candles - love that movie!
@CiO: Yeah, his parents have been that before, too. Sending lots of pics of the kids and then saying Send More rather than thank you. That's why I have a family website so they can look at them or not, but I don't have to deal with their ingratitude.
They are complete asshats - not unlike my husband's stupid parents.
I think renting Sixteen Candles and eating a cake while sitting on the dining room table is a fine idea. After you're done eating, you can give him the reach-around UNDER the table.
Wow, they sound like lovely people. Full of parental concern and caring.
UGH. Unfortunately, I understand all of this crappola.
