Here are 13 songs you need to add to your MP3 player for when you need a boost. They hit every genre. Give them a go and REALLY listen to the lyrics. I think you'll find yourself rocking out and nodding your head.

good tips,,, Happy TT! hope you'll visit mine too.
One of my "favorite" lyrics is from Summer Breeze by Seals & Crofts: "I come home from a long day's work, and you're waiting there, without a care in the world." WTF? Without a care in the WORLD? What is wrong with this woman? Maybe her Danskin leotard & headband are a wee bit too tight...
Loved the list! I'm off to iTunes.
I love No Doubt, I think a lot of their songs are "lift me up" songs! :)
OH! OH! I love Warrior. Most cool song. Good list, hon!
I've never heard any of these but I like the concept of Girl Power Songs.
#6 is my favorite. It'll be running through my head all day now, which isn't a bad thing at all. (Thanks for visiting my TT)
Love the songs, a few to add:
Suddenly I See: K. T. Turnstall
Braver than We Are: written by Jim Steinman...good luck finding it but if you can find it it will knock your socks off.
Happy TT.
"Bad Reputation" by Joan Jett needs to be on somebody's kickass girlpower song list.
Great list!
Oooooo, I love me some music. How about some Led Zeppelin or Joan Jett?
I miss watching Where in the World is Carmen SanDiego! I LOVED Rockapella!
I love your list but can't think of any to add right now. I've got Carmen SanDiego going throug my head!
I don't have an MP3 player I'm afraid. Probably never will.
For the country side- Survivor by Reba McIntire is good. If you're into country, which I'm not. Also, Carrie Underwoods's Before he Cheats is awesome. Good list!
Oooooh! Gloria Gaynor-I Will Survive!!!
Best girl-power song ever!
I like the diversity of your list. Off the top of my head, here are some other "girl power" tunes:
Lady Marmalade by Labelle: Hey Sister, Go Sister, Soul Sister, Go Sister...
Modern Day Delilah by Van Stephenson: She's a wizard with her shears. She's been turning heads for years...
Dark Lady by Cher: The next thing I knew they were dead on the floor,
Dark Lady would never turn a card up anymore...
Long Tall Sally by Little Richard: Well, long tall Sally she's
built for speed, she got
everything that Uncle John need oh baby...
Great list! Here are a few in my iTunes library:
Big Booty by Willie Nelson ("I ain't gonna fix you no more sausage, or biscuits and gravy on the side...you can kiss big booty goodbye!")
Raspberry Swirl by Tori Amos ("I am not you senorita
I am not from your tribe
In the garden I did no crime
I am not your senorita
I am not from your tribe
If you want inside her
Well,
Boy you better make her raspberry swirl")
Where Have All the Cowboys Gone by Paula Cole (great tongue-in-cheek song)
And pretty much anything by Joan Jett or Patti Smith - solid rock women!
Have a great weekend! Peace - D
LOVE Sunny Came Home. Love it. Excellent list, sister!
