One of the books chosen for story time tonight was Sleeping Beauty. I have the habit of changing the stories up or switching languages to see if the kids are paying attention. They love trying to "catch" me when I "trick" them.
Tonight, we got to the part where the villian states that on her sixteenth birthday, Aurora will prick her finger on a spinning wheel and die. To me, it makes much more sense for the curse to read "On the day of your sixteenth birthday, the princess will get pricked and turn into a man".
My kids laughed and "corrected" me No! No! No! She doesn't turn into a man! She is going to die! They are too young to go into the semantics of the word prick, so I hid my smirk and acquiesced to continuing the storyline in a more traditional fashion.
I still think I my version is better, and I can't wait until they are old enough to realize it.

@Patois: The trickery is the best part. It's amazing how many times I slip a Swedish word in and the kids never even notice. I take it as a good sign that the value both languages equally.
