Boomerangs & Ballerinas

We've been off the radar the past few days--sorry about that. We had a ballerina birthday party for LittleBird yesterday. Apparently, your daughter can be a princess or a pirate, but finding ballerina decorations is a bitch. We have spent the past week creating our own party favors and decorations. We have had a blast doing it, but it has been time consuming to say the least.

Now it is Sunday night, but instead of relaxing Hubbie drove my mom to the airport at 4am in order for her to make a 6.30am flight. Over the mountain, through the snow with a yowling cat in tow.

Only to receive the call several hours later that the flights had been full. Mom and yowling cat were still at the airport, and we had to go and pick them up.

So down the mountain we went again. Chain controls and all. We had no electricity when we left, so we made sure we got something to eat before we came home. Just in case.

Now we are ready to go to bed. Four in the morning will come too quickly. We are supposed to be getting even more snow tonight with 100mph winds on the ridge lines. Hubbie has to take mom back to the airport again. I told her that we keep throwing her out and she keeps coming back. God I hope there is an empty seat on her flight tomorrow. For our sake, for her sake, and for our poor cat.

What in the holy hell? Full flights? Snow from hades? 100mph winds?

Here's to hoping that your mom can get the hell out of dodge and that you not only have electricity return but also have plenty of rest and peace. Ugh!

PS
Even though my kid's all boy - he thinks Angelina Ballerina is cool because her ass spins all over the place with those damn ribbons. He wants to have an invite to the next ballerina party!

Oh, the ballerina theme sounds great! Glad you had a good time... then sorry 'bout the airport/weather bullshit. Dang. I hope she got out OK.

So sorry about the weather there! You're going to love DC. We get snow in inches, not feet, and I don't think we've ever had winds that high!

Take good care, my friend, and make sure you get the yowling cat on the plane ;-)

Peace - D

@CMGD: Um, your coffee is on that flight, so I hope she gets on, too!

@BG: Love that you boy loves Angelina Ballerina. I'll have to show you the invites we ordered off of eBay. Too cute.

@Momma: Dude, all I want is an attached garage. This slugging through all this snow with the kids is killing me.

Jesus, sounds like you're living in a place where you get a real appreciation of the joys of winter.
