My Tender-Hearted Husband

During the AI audition show last night, there was a girl who auditioned whose father had been killed in a car accident some three days prior. I am sure she wanted to stand out because of her voice and not because of this horrible tragedy. Thankfully, she had a phenomenal voice, and she changed her song choice to How Do I in honor of her father.

Knowing the background to the story made watching her sing almost unbearable. I was sitting on the sofa with tears pouring down my face. Out of the corner of my eye, I see Hubbie wipe tears from under his glasses. My tender-hearted man!

On the commercial break, I totally called him out on it. I saw that! I said, and smiled at him. He just smiled back.

I think that is our job as their partner...at least that's part of what I read in the job description

- If hubby ever sheds a tear, be sure to call him out on it.

actually I do the very same thing although much like you I'm sure it's because it is nice to see that tender side every now and again. It typically happens to my hubby with horrible child abuse stories..

I saw that last night, it was heartbreaking. Poor Paula lost it.

I love it when I catch Hubby in a tearful moment, then watch him try to deny it! I catch him on a lot of movies like this, I think the last was Bridge to Teribithia. Of course, I was bawling too, so I guess I can't really talk. Sorry I missed AI last night, now!

I have to admit that last night when they were showing a montage of all of the ones who got their golden tickets, I bawled. I guess I am now officially old because all I could think was how thrilled I would be if it were my kid running to me with their ticket to Hollywood.
Thanks for stopping by my place. After reading your banner, I will definitely be back.

I saw that as well. I don't think I could have talked, much less sang after such a tragic event.

My S is forever catching me have Hillary Clinton moments during movies, TV shows or even songs on the radio - it's really 'nice' getting called out for a little bit of frickin' human emotion!
