Who Said Spontaneous Can't Be Fun?

We had a playdate planned for this morning with friends of ours. It is our weekly Thursday playdate. The coffee was brewed. The cheesecake bites thawed. And we got a phone call. Another mom friend was on the line. Our local baby center was closed, and she was wondering what we were up to. I told her to just come on by. The more the merrier, ya know?

So we got the water boiling for her, and she brought her little munchkins over. So in our tiny little living room we had three moms, three little girls, a toddler and a baby in a bucket. It was awesome. We had a blast!! The kids played really well together, we moms got our caffeine fix, and a good time was had by all.

A lot of people will tell you, "Oh just come on by anytime!" Then, if you do just show up at their door one day, you quickly realize that they are full of shit and were only saying it to be nice.

In our house, we mean it. You many not be able to call me before 9am, but you can show up at my house any time you want to. And I am always up for a midnight brownie run. As long as you don't care if I am still in my pyjama bottoms at 3 o'clock in the afternoon, we will all get along just fine.

Yeah, my friend Kristi and I are like that. Planned and unplanned visits between us and our kids are always happening.

OK, you know? Forget the windy city. H needs to get transferred to Atlanta! Dang it!
